Bakery Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Bakery Operations Specialist to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for ensuring the preparation and display of baked goods meet our company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with upper management to train and develop team members, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Support the review of historical data regarding sales, ads, and promotions, and co-manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
  • Indirectly responsible for maintaining and improving sales performance, financial results, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
  • Enforce quality control and food safety standards, and ensure dated products are stocked and rotated properly.
  • Assist with all aspects of bakery production, including preparing, packaging, labeling, catering, and occasional delivery of baked goods.
  • Utilize creativity to decorate baked goods, promote themes, and merchandise product through appealing displays.
  • Verify inventory on trucks, unload products, and ensure accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork.
  • Promote product sales through the use of suggestive selling initiatives and appealing product displays.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures.
  • Provide a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Food Handler certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is generally performed in a retail store.
  • Frequently exposed to hot surfaces.
  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold conditions (non-weather).
  • Frequently exposed to extreme heat conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to cleaning agents.
  • Noise level varies.
