Perioperative Technician

Job Summary
The Perioperative Tech assists the operating room environment by providing clerical support, equipment preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares equipment and rooms for procedures
- Cleans instruments, laryngoscopes, endoscopes, carts, and other equipment
- Checks and restocks surgical suites for supplies and equipment
- Responds to areas or rooms to clean and/or set up equipment between cases
- Monitors existing equipment and supplies and increases or decreases as needed
- Maintains stocked carts in hallways and anesthesia rooms
- Discards and replaces biohazards and sharps containers as needed
- Provides clerical support to the department by answering phones and assisting with procedure scheduling
- Transports patients and equipment safely
- Completes duties before leaving the department and checks the needs of the team prior to leaving for the day
Requirements
- CPR with BLS, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers obtained within 30 days
- High School Diploma or GED
