Electrical Engineer, 2nd Shift

Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical team on 2nd shift in Boxborough, MA.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to perform testing and evaluation on a variety of products to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international EMC/EMI standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standards
  • Read and determine the applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test)
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing
  • Follow established test plans
  • Mentor less senior technical personnel
  • Supply information for quotes, including project length, site requirements, rental equipment, samples, and standards to be used
  • Provide specialized expertise in one product category, such as becoming a reviewer, resident expert, or obtaining and maintaining advanced product knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 2+ years of directly related experience
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Prior project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and international compliance standards, such as ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, and IEC
