Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Oncology Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our Medical Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and leading our nursing team to deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct the day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, ensuring seamless delivery of care and services.
  • Provide guidance and support to Clinical Staff, implementing work plans and coordinating activities with other patient care units and related departments.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and develop individualized plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care and treatment, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and services, including radiation oncology, laboratory services, and palliative care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, promoting open communication and respect for patient dignity and rights.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide nursing staff.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
