As an Environmental Services Technician at the Good Samaritan Society, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for patients, residents, and staff. Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $11.00 - $17.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. This includes tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment and apply them to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff. May be responsible for cleaning locations such as patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.

Wear proper protective equipment following guidelines and keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Assist in laundry areas as needed and have access to pagers and technology that must be used appropriately.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
