Dietary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Dietetic Technician to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will provide high-quality food and nutrition services to patients under the supervision of our Registered Dietitian (RD).
Key Responsibilities- Nutrition Screening and Assessment: Conduct thorough nutrition screenings and participate in the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as determined by the RD to identify patients' nutritional needs.
- Nutrition Intervention and Education: Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans, provide individualized or group nutrition education, and monitor patients' progress to ensure effective intervention.
- Documentation and Quality Assurance: Accurately document medical, food, and nutrition-related data, review patient menus for conformance to diet orders, and maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with patient food service and nutrition staff to ensure seamless delivery of nutrition services, assist with Milk Lab/Formula Lab operations, and support patient food service menu program activities.
- Education and Certification: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Certification as a Dietetic Technician, Registered, or obtained within 6 months of hire date.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred; experience in healthcare is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.
This is a full-time position with a regular schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
