Eye Care Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Haymarket, Virginia.

About the Role:

  • Examine patients with a wide range of visual problems using advanced optometry instruments and techniques.
  • Diagnose and treat various eye diseases, disorders, and deficiencies in accordance with state laws.
  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses to improve patient vision.
  • Recommend low-vision aids such as telescopic and microscopic lenses, magnifiers, and other optical devices.
  • Use diagnostic pharmaceutical agents to detect and diagnose ocular pathology.
  • Evaluate ocular signs of systemic diseases and medications.
  • Collaborate with internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology teams on patient care issues.
  • Develop and implement in-service education programs for medical staff and patients.
  • Manage anterior segment disorders under physician supervision.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • Day shift with occasional rotating Saturdays (1 Saturday per month).
  • Travel required to all NOVA Optometry Centers based on business needs.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry.
  • Enrollment in PECOS within 90 days of hire date.
  • Active Optometrist License in Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • National Provider Identifier.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Accredited residency in Optometry.

Estimated Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
