Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in managing general accounting functions, financial reporting, project accounting, account analysis, payroll processing, fixed asset management, and bank reconciliations. This position is also tasked with preparing financial reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), financial analyses, budgets, and forecasts for various stakeholders.

Essential duties include:

  • Overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, project accounting, and payroll management
  • Generating accurate monthly financial statements in comparison to budget and previous years
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to prepare timely financial budgets and forecasts
  • Reviewing monthly financial reports with internal stakeholders
  • Providing financial analysis as requested by management
  • Preparing weekly cash flow and KPI reports
  • Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Analyzing construction job budgets and reporting on profitability
  • Responding to external audit requests in a timely manner
  • Assisting in the development of financial processes, internal controls, and policies
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of two years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting
  • At least one year of experience in cost accounting or construction project accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Effective communication skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA certification
  • Experience with a major public accounting firm
  • Knowledge of construction accounting practices
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 Contractor, ServiceTrade, and Procore

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the team member is regularly required to use hands for tasks, communicate verbally, and may need to lift or move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
