Medical Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Specialist to join our team at Bronson Urology and Continence. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide top-notch care to patients while working collaboratively with our medical team.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently, think critically, and communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and other staff members. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities- Provide general nursing staff functions for the practice, including vital sign recording, patient assessment, and clinical information support
- Process and post information to patient charts, and educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment, and care
- Assist in other areas as needed, and perform phone triage of patients
- Maintain documentation standards, review charts prior to appointments, and prepare patients for examinations
- Triage calls, determine urgency, and schedule tests and procedures under the direction of the provider
- Document results from ordered tests/procedures, notify patients of results, and document in medical records
- Perform point-of-care laboratory tests as directed by the physician, accurately documenting required information in patient charts
- Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; 6-12 months experience in healthcare preferred
- Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required; BLS certification also required
- Excellent interpersonal and effective problem-solving and prioritization skills, with the ability to process information in a confidential manner
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, doctors, and other staff members, maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and function as an integral team member with other healthcare professionals
- Excellent computer skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of mental/visual fatigue, interacting with patients, doctors, and other staff members on a regular basis. Occasional lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (up to 50 pounds) may be required.
Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
