Position Overview

The Mixologist plays a crucial role in crafting exquisite cocktails with precision and flair. As the primary point of contact for patrons at the bar, the Mixologist embodies the spirit of Mattei's, sharing stories and insights about our culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will approach their responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism. Key responsibilities include preparing and serving beverages, maintaining bar cleanliness, making menu recommendations, delivering food and drinks, describing menu items to guests, suggesting wine pairings, ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing inventory effectively. A strong team player, the Mixologist must possess a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of mixology and beverage selections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster positive guest relations through attentive service and familiarity with regular patrons.
  • Welcome guests promptly and professionally, taking orders and serving food and beverages in accordance with established standards.
  • Engage with guests, offering suggestions for food and drinks while actively promoting menu items.
  • Collaborate with team members across all food and beverage outlets, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Utilize the point of sale and inventory management systems, ensuring responsible cash handling practices.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fine dining or high-volume establishments.
  • Expertise in craft cocktails.
  • Ability to connect with guests and build rapport.
  • Exceptional grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bar area.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work part-time or full-time.
  • Certification in Responsible Beverage Service.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience in a luxury resort environment.

Compensation

This position offers a starting wage of $18.03 per hour.
