Responsibilities:

  • Drive tractor-trailer combinations, weighing over 3 tons, to transport and deliver products
  • Safely maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and verifying vehicle position
  • Collect delivery instructions from authorized sources, verifying accuracy and routes
  • Maintain detailed logs of working hours, vehicle service, trip reports, and other documentation as per company, state, and federal regulations
  • Secure cargo for transport using appropriate equipment, ropes, blocks, chains, binders, and covers
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and equipment compliance

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current Class A CDL license and ability to maintain it; obtain Hazmat endorsement; doubles and triples preferred
  • Excellent Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and driving history
  • Ability to qualify physically for and obtain a Medical Examiner's certificate pursuant to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Able to make accurate decisions when interacting with customers and the public
  • Two years of experience operating a tractor trailer, handling merchandise, and customer interaction
  • Ability to work a minimum of two overnight routes
  • Commitment to high safety standards and adherence to all safety policies
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Meet physical assessment requirements for this position
  • Able to perform tasks involving walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, climbing, grasping, and lifting as necessary for vehicle inspections and coupling/uncoupling
  • Able to walk, bend, reach, stoop, squat, push, pull, and maneuver items up to 75 pounds with suitable equipment
  • Able to interpret maps and complete trip plans
  • Able to meet deadlines and achieve daily goals
