Job Title: Physical Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our in-house team at Carriage Hill Bethesda, a Vierra Communities property. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents and patients, helping them to achieve their full potential and improve their quality of life.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with a range of physical therapy needs, from rehabilitation to maintenance. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring that each patient receives the highest level of care and attention.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients to identify physical therapy needs and develop treatment plans to achieve goals
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to determine the need for intervention and treatment
  • Implement and conduct treatment as outlined in the treatment plan, adapting to individual patient needs
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
  • Develop and implement home or community programming to maintain and enhance patient performance
  • Document results of patient assessments, treatment, and follow-up
  • Supervise students and volunteers, and refer patients for treatment to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA)
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients, families, and staff
Requirements:
  • License to practice Physical Therapy within the state
  • Successful completion of the National Certification Examination for Physical Therapist
  • Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the patience, empathy, and compassion needed to care for elderly patients

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position; lift, push, pull, carry heavy objects
  • The employee must be capable of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly
  • The employee is required to have visual and hearing acuity sufficient enough to assess patient safety and ability
