Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Nursing Assistant to join our team at Covenant Living. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care according to established policies and procedures
  • Carry out direct physical cares, documentation of resident needs and conditions, and direction of other non-licensed personnel on the nursing unit
  • Communicate regularly with the charge nurse regarding observations and suggestions of problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.
  • Observe residents' medical, mental, and emotional conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff
  • Provide explanation and offer understanding of nursing care to residents and families according to procedures and provide support relating to medical care as appropriate
  • Monitor resident rooms for actual or potential safety hazards and negotiate with the resident/family for replacement or removal
  • Assist in the admission, orientation, discharge, and transfer of residents, including packing/unpacking belongings, placement of personal belongings, initiating needed work orders, orienting resident to the apartment and unit environment, and obtaining shower and laundry schedule for new residents
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months full-time experience as a nursing assistant in a long-term geriatric setting
  • Licensed Nursing Aide certification
  • Good observation skills and ability to treat patient information confidentially
  • Well-organized and ability to understand and show compassion to senior adults
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family, and staff
