Position Overview:


This role will assist various teams in the design and execution of non-safety control systems, turbine management systems, and plant computing solutions for the nuclear energy sector.

Our clientele spans the globe, encompassing both established nuclear facilities and new projects utilizing the AP1000 and APR1400 designs.

Individuals in this role will collaborate closely with diverse disciplines, including functional design, software engineering, hardware development, and testing. Tasks will be assigned and overseen by the respective technical leads in each discipline.

The ideal candidate should possess a keen interest in and foundational knowledge of industrial control systems and the fluid dynamics typical of a nuclear facility.


Daily Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design and development of industrial control systems and/or plant computing solutions by analyzing requirements and evaluating customer-provided design inputs.
• Implement control logic and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) displays based on functional specifications.
• Support various calculations, including software hazard assessments, susceptibility evaluations, Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), and Power/Heat load calculations.
• Prepare documentation to facilitate the design, implementation, and delivery of industrial control systems.
• Develop and execute test protocols for both unit and system-level assessments.
• Engage in additional Verification and Validation (V&V) activities to uphold project quality standards.


Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel may be necessary to support customer systems, with additional opportunities for fieldwork generally available.


Qualifications:
Education:
• Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear disciplines.

Experience:
• 0-1 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
• Familiarity with common PLC, SCADA, or DCS platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of control theory, including plant processes, process dynamics, basic control, discrete control, and sequential control.
• Experience in industrial settings or with industrial control systems is advantageous.
• Awareness of field and control devices typical in the energy sector is beneficial.
• Familiarity with standard industry drawings, including P&ID diagrams, loop diagrams, cabinet schematics, and panel layouts is a plus.
