Job Description**Responsibilities:**
- Teach foundation-level studio courses in graphic design, emphasizing the development of technical skills and creative thinking.
- Instruct the use of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite, to enhance student learning and professional preparedness.
- Facilitate learning of principles of art and design, fostering a deep understanding of visual communication and creative expression.
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship, providing constructive feedback and guidance to students.
- Collaborate with department faculty to enhance curriculum and student learning experiences, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Engage in professional development activities related to the field of graphic design, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings and other activities as needed, contributing to the overall success of the Department of Art.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Art, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Evidence of scholarly activity or research in the field of graphic design, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Experience teaching graphic design courses at the college level, preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Master's degree or higher in Art, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Experience in graphic design industry, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Teaching experience in online or hybrid environments, with a focus on student engagement and success.
