- Overseeing the fire protection components of multifaceted projects.
- Independently assessing, selecting, and implementing standard and advanced engineering methods to address a wide array of fire protection challenges.
- Taking ownership of all project aspects, including technical drawings, specifications, timelines, and budget management, while leading assigned personnel.
- Engaging with clients and contractors to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
- Conceptualizing and designing intricate systems and projects, while developing foundational approaches to working drawings.
- Interpreting engineering data for design teams and ensuring accuracy and completeness in all drawings.
- Monitoring project schedules and budgets, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Reviewing and summarizing relevant codes for incorporation into design documentation.
- Establishing and maintaining communication with clients to ensure the integrity of information flow.
- Conducting site visits as required to support project needs.
- Coordinating efforts with other disciplines and consultants to achieve project goals.
- Reviewing contract documents and shop drawings, and addressing inquiries as necessary.
- Preparing periodic project status reports for management review.
- Writing specifications in collaboration with the Technical Services Department.
- Performing additional duties as needed to support project success.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or institutional environments.
- Experience in healthcare, technology, or civic facilities is advantageous.
- Interest in sustainable design or LEED certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is essential.
- Previous experience in commercial or institutional settings.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering software.
- A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture is vital.
