Job Summary:
As a Produce Clerk Part Time at BJ's Wholesale Club, you will play a vital role in ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce department. Your primary responsibility will be to sort, display, and replenish fresh fruits and vegetables, maintaining the overall environment of the department to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect and rotate produce upon delivery to ensure it meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area, dating and rotating all back stock items, and ensuring the storage area is organized and condensed daily.
• Assist members with finding products, answer questions, and provide recommendations on produce and safe handling tips.
• Clean and sanitize all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage for produce goods and perform price check functions when necessary.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Work experience in a produce department is preferred.
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetables, including seasonal items, is a plus.
• At least 18 years of age.
Work Environment:
• Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces and positioning oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.
