Nutritional Care Assistants collaborate closely with Registered Dietitians to improve the health and well-being of our residents. They play a vital role in gathering health data and working alongside other healthcare professionals to create tailored nutritional care plans.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Completing and updating nutritional assessments for residents under the guidance of the Registered Dietitian.
- Conducting reviews to identify residents' nutritional needs and those at risk.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and assess care plans.
- Monitoring resident weights to detect significant changes.
- Performing regular meal observations and reviewing records to ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition.
- Required: Associate or bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent, or actively pursuing a degree in a healthcare field, preferably nutrition-related, or holding a current Dietary Manager Certificate (CDM) with a Practitioner Certificate in Nutrition Care.
- Preferred: Registered Dietetic Technician.
- Preferred: Training as a Personal Care Assistant.
