Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician II to join our team at Cobb County, GA. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing expert repair and maintenance services for our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and repair complex issues with fleet vehicles
  • Make major repairs, including replacing engines, brakes, and other critical components
  • Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Inspect and repair hydraulic brake systems, including master brake cylinders and brake pads
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, including controls and wiring
  • Complete service orders to document parts and labor used in service and repair activities
  • Road test vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safe operating condition
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; three years of progressively skilled experience in heavy truck service, maintenance, and repair preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required, depending on the area of assignment
  • Preferred certifications include National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (NIASE) certifications in preventative maintenance, medium/heavy truck brakes, diesel engines, electrical/electronic systems, and emergency vehicle technician (EVT) pumps on fire apparatus
Working Conditions

This position requires regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials.

Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, heights, confined spaces, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, water hazards, or rude/irate customers.
