Position Summary

The Systems Support Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and enhancement of information and operational systems to facilitate the organization's functions. This professional will leverage their communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills to identify and rectify systems challenges, thereby optimizing the value derived from IT system investments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and assess infrastructure systems including LANs, WANs, security measures, and wireless solutions.
  • Oversee network backup services and uphold security protocols.
  • Manage operating systems and software while coordinating communication solutions.
  • Execute desktop-level troubleshooting, oversee databases, and resolve end-user desktop issues.
  • Install and configure software applications, address help requests, and conduct tests for modified systems.
  • Investigate hardware and software products, evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems.
  • Provide after-hours support and perform systems work as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of five years of pertinent experience.
  • Proven experience in implementing software and hardware solutions, designing system infrastructure, networking, and managing operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network and PC operating systems, network hardware, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comprehension of network protocols, VPN, Active Directory, and system backup methodologies.
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp and Cisco VoIP is advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Remote support may be necessary, with occasional travel for off-site installations.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects may be required.
