We are seeking a skilled CDL Truck Driver who also possesses expertise in truck maintenance and mechanical operations. This position combines the responsibilities of driving commercial vehicles with the ability to perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and make minor repairs to ensure the safety and operational efficiency of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Transport goods to designated locations in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Routine Maintenance and Inspections: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct minor repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other truck components.
- Vehicle Preparation and Maintenance: Ensure all vehicles are in good working condition before and after each trip, performing necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, and communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members regarding delivery schedules, routes, and vehicle status.
- Safety Protocols and Regulations: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Valid CDL Class A Driver's License: With a clean driving record.
- Truck Driving Experience: Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong understanding of commercial vehicle operations.
- Mechanical Aptitude and Experience: Mechanical aptitude and experience in truck maintenance and repair.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently and independently.
- Attention to Detail and Safety Commitment: Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
- Certification in Diesel Mechanics: Certification in diesel mechanics or related field.
- DOT Regulations and Compliance: Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
