Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Fort Bend County.

About the Job

As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to construct and maintain county roads, bridges, and rights of way. Your duties will include:

  • Operating all light and heavy construction equipment
  • Scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Spraying herbicide and insecticide chemicals
  • Assisting with construction projects
  • Excavating ditches and setting culverts to proper elevations
  • Performing shop duties
  • Supervising work crews

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma/GED
  • Two years of job-related experience as an equipment operator
  • The ability to understand and carry out instructions
  • A thorough knowledge of and ability to operate required heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of road design and/or drainage channel design construction and maintenance
  • A valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
