Construction Helper

SICE, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Helper to join our team.

The ideal candidate will assist and follow the instructions of Foreman to assist in the underground works and the installation of equipment, including CCTV, high mast, and LED lights.

Responsibilities will include construction of foundations, trench, grounds boxes, pulling cable, and installing poles and electrical equipment.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for setting up working areas by unloading materials and tools in a timely manner, removing all debris, packing up tools, and putting away unused materials.

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for keeping debris away from active worksites to ensure the safety of workers moving about the area.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement in a timely manner.
2. Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests of different foundations and other underground works.
3. Assist in the installation of electrical and mechanical installation of equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
4. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
5. Perform any work required to get the works going.

Requirements:

• Experience handling small cranes.
• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Working Conditions:

• Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Working outdoors on and around roadways, under bridges, at heights, and in active construction zones.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
