Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated educators in Lancaster, California. As a school-based OT, you will play a vital role in supporting students' development of essential skills needed for success in the academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify fine motor, sensory processing, and visual perceptual challenges in children.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to address specific occupational therapy needs.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to students in individual or group settings within the school environment.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and treatment plans, adhering to all relevant documentation standards.
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers, providing education and support regarding their child's occupational development.
- Participate in school staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in the field of occupational therapy.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active California State Licensure in Occupational Therapy.
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
