Position Overview
LaBella Associates is in search of a Team Leader to support the Regional Leader in enhancing and broadening our services in the Capital Region Area. In this role, you will oversee projects and teams to conduct studies, develop engineering plans, and engage in projects from initial concept to final closeout. Your responsibilities will include quality assurance, client interaction, budgeting, and mentoring junior engineers, as well as liaising with clients, contractors, and local government officials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct reviews of studies, reports, designs, and the preparation of construction documents for water distribution systems, sewage collection, storage facilities, control vaults, pumping stations, booster stations, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, and green infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for water distribution, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Prepare and manage the scope, schedule, and budget for proposals and contracts.
  • Oversee junior engineering staff, sub-consultants, and project expenses during implementation.
  • Effectively communicate project objectives, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to the project team, clients, and the public through memos, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist in anticipating project challenges, advising clients on alternatives, and providing solutions.
  • Support the implementation of projects from scoping to completion.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of invoices and collections for LaBella and sub-consultants.
  • Contribute to Business Development and enhance Client Satisfaction.
  • Understand LaBella's services and their relevance to client needs.
  • Assist in securing repeat business from clients, including cross-selling services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • PE registration in New York is mandatory.
  • 15+ years of design experience in municipal civil engineering.
  • Experience in the design of water mains, sanitary sewers, roads, pathways, and stormwater systems is essential. Familiarity with Utility projects within NYSDOT R.O.W. is advantageous.
  • Experience or familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Bluebeam, and hydraulic and hydrology design software such as EPA-SWMM, H2O-Map, WaterCAD/SewerCad/GEMS, or InfoWater.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, coupled with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative values.
  • A desire to tackle challenging problems and advance client interests.
  • Ability to lead project teams on selected assignments.
  • Projects may involve collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, hydrogeologists, architects, and technicians, covering a range from preliminary engineering to final design and construction documentation.
  • Capable of documenting and presenting work to teams and clients clearly and concisely.
Salary Range: ($120,000 - $145,000)
The specific salary offered may be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
