Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research studies and technical analyses to develop innovative solutions for the company's generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to engineering staff, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in their work.
- Lead project teams to develop critical engineering solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Develop detailed design specifications and prepare bid packages for external engineering services, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Review and evaluate system and equipment performance, tests, and analyses performed by senior engineering staff, providing authoritative consultation and recommendations to senior management.
- Participate in industry associations and work groups to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices, influencing policy and shaping the future of the company's utility.
- Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results, applying expert knowledge and application of principles in the area of electrical engineering specialty.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience as a practicing electrical engineer, including experience performing highly technical work of a specialized nature.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required based on role.
- Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
- Highest level of communication and interpersonal skills, involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.
- Expert knowledge and application of principles in the area of electrical engineering specialty, understanding of the company's business and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and electrical codes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
