Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Amergis is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and rehabilitation services to individuals with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough client evaluations to identify rehabilitation needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services, including interventions and modalities, to promote independence and functional ability.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to modify treatment plans as needed and ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assess patient needs, plan, and evaluate care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers new skills or retrain them in daily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness or injury.
  • Establish equipment needs to facilitate independent living and instruct individuals and/or families/caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Perform work capacity evaluations and refer individuals to specialized vocational training as needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation according to the plan of care.
  • Participate in care conferences and other meetings to ensure coordination of home health services.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational Therapy.
  • One year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
