Paralegal/Grievance Coordinator

Teamsters Local 357 is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal/Grievance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paralegal studies and experience in labor law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Docketing and case management of grievances and litigation
- Conduct research, document facts, and assemble grievance dockets for presentation to the employer
- Coordinate with Union Stewards and the Contract Administrator on newly filed grievances and grievance status
- Perform intake interviews for new grievances and refer to the Union Stewards
- Draft and proofread grievance and arbitration documents
- Assemble dockets and exhibits for grievance and arbitration hearings
- Organize, archive, and catalogue all grievance, arbitration, and legal files in the Docuware document management system
- Calendar grievance and arbitration deadlines to ensure filing deadlines are not missed
- Enter and update all grievances in the electronic grievance management system
- Manage grievance and arbitration caseload; schedule and coordinate logistics for hearings
- Maintain and organize Union documents in a centralized database
- Perform legal research at the request of the General Counsel
- Light office work
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associates degree in paralegal studies (or equivalent)
- 1 to 2 years experience
- Good organization skills
- Detail orientated and competent at managing data and information
- Capable of independent work and time management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in general law, labor law, or business law
- NALA CP certification (or similar)
- 2-4 years experience
- Prior experience handling cases related to labor law, collective bargaining agreements, and employer grievances
- Prior trade union experience
