Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation
    • Assist in preparing financial statements that comply with all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the controller.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Analyze and summarize large data queries to provide financial information to management.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Payable Processing
    • Assist with accounts payable processing, including verifying and reconciling invoices and payments.
  • Accruals and Payroll
    • Prepare accruals for expenses and payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Contribute to team goals within the Finance Department, working collaboratively with other accounting staff to achieve objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Understand and adhere to all written policies and procedures of the bank, including BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security operations, and personnel policies.
  • Professional Development
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent bank accounting experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Demonstrated ability to produce documents, spreadsheets, databases, etc. with Windows-based software.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of banking/credit union industry preferred.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while under strict deadlines and constant interruptions.
    • Ability to think analytically and consider the facts, rules, policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with management, supervisors, and staff.
