Job Summary:
The Albuquerque Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Playground Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our playgrounds and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and uphold and enforce rules, administrative directives, and regulations.
- Articulate and facilitate the implementation of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public Schools.
- Safeguard confidentiality of privileged information.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy, and administrative regulations.
- Share the responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and report safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, the community, and other professionals.
- Maintain professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities, and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Attend and/or conduct staff meetings and participate on committees within area of responsibility.
- Perform other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an immediate supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
- Ability to use various power tools.
- Ability to become familiar with and understand application of CPSC guidelines and ASTM F1487 standards.
- Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Welding Certification.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment physical examination.
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License with insurable driving record.
- Four years experience in safety, security, environmental compliance, playground installation, or related area.
