The School of Health Professions at Mississippi State University is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its inaugural Dean. As a key member of the university's leadership team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare education in East Central Mississippi.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of academic leadership, with experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, leading faculty and staff, and fostering collaborations with community partners.
The Dean will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of undergraduate and graduate programs in health sciences, as well as securing funding and resources to support these efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned academic administrator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students, faculty, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the School of Health Professions, including developing and implementing strategic plans and goals.
- Lead faculty and staff in the development and implementation of high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of students and the healthcare industry.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers to advance the mission of the School and the University.
- Secure funding and resources to support the School's programs and initiatives.
- Represent the School and the University in various professional and community settings.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced academic leader who possesses a strong track record of success in higher education. The ideal candidate will have:
- A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a health-related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in academic administration, preferably as a department chair or dean.
- A strong understanding of healthcare education and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, the University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
