Role Summary
East Carolina University is seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time faculty role within the Department of Advanced Nursing Practice and Education. This position focuses on teaching in the Master of Science (MSN) programs, specifically the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS) and Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (NCNS) tracks. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background that aligns with the mission and vision of these programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in both core and specialized courses within the MSN curriculum.
  • Engage in academic advising and course development.
  • Collaborate with clinical practicum preceptors to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings and contribute to various committees and task forces.
  • Direct and supervise MSN projects, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Involve in the recruitment and selection process of prospective students.

Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing or a closely related field.
  • National certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
  • A valid, unrestricted nursing license in North Carolina is required upon employment.
  • Experience in clinical nursing practice, particularly as a clinical nurse specialist.

Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and innovative instructional strategies.
  • Proficient in technology relevant to nursing education and practice.
  • Strong communication skills and a minimum of two years of full-time clinical nursing experience.
