Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ready Mix Driver to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Bessemer, AL. As a Ready Mix Driver, you will be responsible for delivering concrete to job sites in a timely and safe manner, while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to company safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Ready Mix Concrete to customers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean and organized condition, adhering to company safety standards
  • Perform minor roadside repairs and ensure vehicle is in good working condition
  • Inspect mix, slump, and verify load size to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Work closely with dispatch to optimize routes and ensure timely delivery
  • Assemble and operate concrete chutes during pour, ensuring safe and efficient operation
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment and attending safety meetings
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License Class A or B
  • Proficient reading, writing, and math skills
  • Minimum one year of experience operating a commercial vehicle with a multi-speed transmission
  • Good driving record and valid medical card
  • Concrete knowledge and experience preferred, as well as mechanical background or skills
  • Ability to work six days a week, with occasional Sunday work, and drive up to 11 hours per day
  • Solid attendance and punctuality history, with ability to climb ladders and lift 60 lbs
