Position Overview
The role of the Certified Physical Therapy Aide is crucial in delivering high-quality Physical Therapy services under the guidance of the Therapy Supervisor/Manager and ultimately the Director of Rehabilitation Services. This position involves assisting licensed Physical Therapists in the treatment of patients across various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, along with their families or caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing direct patient care and may involve working at multiple locations where therapy services are offered. The Certified Physical Therapy Aide contributes to the interdisciplinary team by providing insights on ongoing patient care and has the authority to make minor modifications to individual patient programs, manage patient appointment schedules, document objective data, oversee the activities of support staff, and recommend necessary routine equipment.
Decisions requiring the Licensed Physical Therapist's input include conducting initial patient evaluations, re-evaluations, significant program modifications, setting goals, ordering specialized equipment, and preparing complex discharge summaries. To ensure continuity of care, regular discussions with the primary therapist regarding patient management are essential.
This position entails direct patient interaction and care.
Essential Qualifications
Education:
Must possess a working-level proficiency in the English language, encompassing reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in physical disabilities, specialty certifications, or expertise in specific areas of physical therapy.
Licensure:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of Nevada.
Certifications:
Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
Technical Skills:
Must have, or be able to acquire within 90 days, the necessary computer skills to fulfill online training requirements for job-specific competencies, access digital forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
