About the Role
In this position, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units.
- Monitoring and assessing patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory status in the step-down unit.
- Administering medications, performing procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educating patients and families on post-intensive care recovery, medication management, and self-care techniques.
- Communicating effectively with healthcare team members to facilitate patient progress and optimize outcomes in the step-down unit.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A current RN license.
- BLS (Other certifications as required by facility).
- Two years of recent Step Down experience.
- Strong communication and adaptability skills.
