About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new provision within Doncaster, supporting children with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. As a Teaching Assistant Level 2 - SEMH Specialist, you will work alongside a team of professionals to provide guidance and support to students in a mainstream curriculum setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting positive relationships and attachment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with the delivery of the curriculum, adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and supportive learning environment, promoting the well-being of all students.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in SEMH support.

Requirements

  • Relevant Level 2 qualification and experience in SEMH settings, Social Care, or Mental Health.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in mathematics or English or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work with children with SEMH, including Autism, in a mainstream or special school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to supporting the aims of the academy and promoting the well-being of all students.
