Job Title: Policy Development Lead, YouTube Trust and Safety

Join Google's Trust and Safety team as a Policy Development Lead, where you will play a critical role in shaping YouTube's global policies and ensuring a safe and respectful community for users.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of global policies for YouTube content. As a Policy Development Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects that impact the global ecosystem and ensure that YouTube's policies are effective and up-to-date.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update global policies in various areas of online content.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and company executives regarding proposed content policy efforts.
  • Lead research and trainings for developing new policies and understanding emerging risks across the globe.
  • Work closely with global teams to ensure effective operationalization of global policies.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with partners across cross-functional groups including public policy, PR, legal, product, engineering, and sales.
Requirements
  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in drafting or enforcing policy for an online platform or engagement with online public policy issues.
  • Experience working with global teams and communicating with stakeholders cross-functionally.
  • 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust & Safety, or technology environment.
  • Experience engaging in and discussing sensitive or controversial areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing strategic and/or large-scale projects in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to grow in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
