About the Role

CarMax is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Reconditioning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our inventory preparation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and appearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct cosmetic inspections and final quality inspections to ensure vehicles meet CarMax standards
  • Perform various cosmetic reconditioning, cleaning, and repair processes, including paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing
  • Identify defects and recommend repair methods to ensure vehicles meet CarMax standards
  • Drive vehicles on and off lot to facilitate inventory movement
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to our sales team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in automotive reconditioning or a related field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
