JOB OVERVIEW
At Region V Services, we are dedicated to providing exceptional support to individuals with disabilities. Our team members engage in meaningful work that involves training and assisting individuals in their homes and various community settings.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary focus of this position is to enhance the skills and independence of individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve personal goals and foster relationships within their communities. The role may require flexibility in work locations and hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a part-time role, typically offering around 20 hours per week, with shifts available during weekdays, evenings, and weekends for both residential and day programs.
KEY DUTIES
1. Facilitate a fulfilling daily experience for individuals by providing tailored training and support based on their unique needs and aspirations.
2. Actively participate in team meetings to ensure that the support provided aligns with the individual's goals and preferences.
3. Collaborate with individuals, their families, and team members to identify desired outcomes, including involvement in assessments as recommended by the Individual Program Plan (IPP) team.
4. Design and implement training programs while maintaining accurate records and data collection to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Regularly evaluate training programs to promote personal development and adjust strategies as needed to ensure progress.
ROLE MODELING
Serve as a positive example for individuals, promoting socially appropriate behaviors, personal hygiene, and grooming through everyday interactions.
COLLABORATION
Work in partnership with consultants, supervisors, and other staff to meet the diverse needs of individuals effectively.
SAFETY AND WELL-BEING
Instruct and enforce safety protocols in accordance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
ADAPTABILITY
Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the training and support needs of individuals. Assist with nutritional and dietary requirements as necessary.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Engage in ongoing training and staff meetings to enhance job performance and service quality.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Support individuals in managing their personal finances in strict accordance with established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge of training methodologies for individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
2. Ability to work compassionately with individuals requiring personal care and support.
3. Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to contributing positively to the work environment.
4. Must be at least 18 years of age and capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, including lifting when necessary.
