  • Managing both written and verbal communications regarding alterations in scheduling with precision and promptness.
  • Ensuring sufficient time is allocated for surgical interventions.
  • Accurately documenting informed consent from patients prior to surgical procedures.
  • Providing comprehensive and precise information to patients about preparation for tests, medical clearances, and pre-surgical evaluations, while confirming that all necessary medical clearances and pre-surgical assessments are completed.
  • Verifying patients' insurance details and securing prior authorizations for surgical interventions efficiently.
  • Coordinating surgical bookings promptly, ensuring all required equipment is ordered upon receiving authorization.
  • Following up on medical clearances and pre-anesthesia testing, collaborating directly with primary care providers to ensure patients are thoroughly prepared for surgery.
  • Engaging with physicians and other personnel regarding any patient-related scheduling concerns or issues.
  • Arranging surgeries in accordance with physician availability while maintaining optimal turnaround times.
  • Acquiring referrals as mandated by the insurance provider.
  • Scheduling pre-operative and post-operative appointments as necessary.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Experience in surgical coordination is essential.
  • Familiarity with surgical prior authorization processes is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.
