We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Technician to join our team at Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing soil, concrete, and asphalt tests, as well as other assigned tasks. Your strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively communicate test results to clients and project managers.
Key Responsibilities- Testing and Inspection: Perform soil, concrete, and asphalt tests, as well as other assigned tasks, and communicate test results to clients and project managers.
- Equipment Maintenance: Check and maintain equipment as needed, including simple repairs such as replacing parts on a wheelbarrow or pressure meter, and calibrating basic field equipment.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate complete, clear, timely, and accurate testing and inspection reports, time sheets, and expense reports for presentation to project managers or business group managers.
- Heavy Lifting and Physical Demands: Regularly lift 40-50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Travel and Flexibility: Travel, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Provide field-level project leadership by mentoring, coaching, and training less experienced technician staff in testing and inspection.
- Education: High school graduate or GED.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in paraprofessional engineering work.
- Certifications: International Code Council (ICC) certification in soil, reinforced concrete, or structural masonry required; Roadway Testing Technician (RTT) certification desired or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.
Regularly works in varying outside weather conditions where noise levels can be loud. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
