Senior Accountant Job Description
The Senior Accountant is a key member of our finance and accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. This role requires expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end closing and consolidation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze balance sheet reconciliations and consolidated financial statements.
- Develop and apply accounting treatments for complex transactions.
- Maintain debt schedules and prepare financial reports and analyses.
- Support annual reviews and audits by preparing documentation.
- Prepare tax returns and provide required information.
- Develop standard financial processes and document them.
- Provide support on special projects and optimize profit margins.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including proper costing of food and supplies.
- Manage multiple revenue streams, including in-house dining, delivery services, and catering.
- Reconcile daily sales reports and address discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing, including tip reporting and labor law compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.
- 1 year of public accounting experience in the U.S. is preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and consolidated financial reporting.
- Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly valued.
- Understanding of restaurant POS systems and integration with accounting software.
- Experience in managing inventory and calculating COGS.
Qualifications:
- Conscientious and able to work independently.
- Strong technical skills in GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of sales tax compliance in the restaurant industry.
- Ability to handle high transaction volumes.
Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
