Job Summary

The American Lung Association is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indoor Air Quality Specialist to join our team in Nationwide Health Promotions. As a key member of our Health Promotion & Education department, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based initiatives to improve lung health and prevent lung disease.

This is a grant-funded position that requires collaboration with our team to deliver comprehensive lung health programming to key communities throughout the United States. You will engage with stakeholders, subcontractors, and community partners to ensure the success of our initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community awareness, education, and programs related to public health and environmental health.
  • Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based initiatives.
  • Conduct community outreach and build relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to communities and partners.
  • Develop educational and awareness materials.
  • Ensure high-quality results and meet key performance measures and reporting requirements.
  • Compile program outcomes and disseminate surveillance and evaluation findings.
  • Collaborate with other key staff members, partners, and organizations.
  • Serve on ALA's regional and national workgroups and committees.
  • Contribute to reports required by the association and funding sources.
  • Represent the association in community, civic, and health coalitions and organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders, facilitators, and community partners.
  • Participate in state and national seminars and courses to increase skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in public health or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing and implementing community awareness, education, and programs related to public health and environmental health.
  • Prior experience in public health, indoor air quality, environmental health, or community health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
