Must-Have:
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Experience in General OR, Teaching Hospital, Trauma.
- ENT, Endoscopic, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Oral, Orthopedic, Plastic Surgery, Trauma, Urology, and Emergency Management Skills.
- Proficiency with Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies such as Drills, Electrosurgical units, and Fiber optic light sources/cords.
- Professional Knowledge and Skills in Aseptic Technique, Isolation Precautions, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/Labeling, and Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
- Teaching Hospital Experience is preferred; Trauma Level I Experience is required.
Job Description:
- Assist in various surgical procedures, including direct laryngoscopy, radial neck dissection, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy, colonoscopy, EGD, peg tube placement/exchange, and more.
- Provide support for general surgery procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection (Open/LAP), hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, mastectomy, thyroidectomy (partial/total).
- Assist in gynecology procedures like abdominal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, bilateral tubal ligation, dilation & curettage, vaginal hysterectomy.
- Help with neurosurgery procedures including craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion.
- Engage in oral and maxillofacial surgeries like repair of fractured jaws, mandibular and zygomatic.
- Participate in orthopedic surgeries such as arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, closed/open reduction of fractures.
- Support plastic surgery cases, specifically Free Flap
- Microvascular procedures.
- Engage in trauma cases management including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries).
- Assist in urology procedures, including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and ureteroscopy.
- Comply with emergency management requirements, specifically Fire Safety.
- Use required equipment and ensure proficiency with drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources/cords.
- Uphold aseptic techniques and safety protocols, including radiation and sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and maintain universal protocol adherence.
- The facility is a Level I trauma center with a Magnet recognition and 562 staffed beds.
