First Student is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Monitor/Aide. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school.
Key Responsibilities- Route Oversight: Monitor the route and remain alert to the welfare of passengers while in transit.
- Communication: Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver.
- Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is safe and ready for operation.
- Student Support: Assist students in the loading and unloading process, and cooperate with school personnel, students, and parents.
- Emergency Procedures: Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of emergency doors, and assist the driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.
- Bus Maintenance: Clean the inside of the bus and assist with opening and closing service doors and moving up and down steps multiple times daily.
- Communication Skills: Possess good verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Availability: Be available to work early morning shifts.
- Judgment and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate judgment and problem-solving skills to manage high degrees of stress.
