About the Role

Amazon is seeking a skilled Sensor Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and release of sensor systems to manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, and strong communication skills. They will be responsible for developing and productizing sensor systems, working with interdisciplinary teams, and delivering technical expertise to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of product designs from concept to production, including design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification.
  • Develop requirements, functional specifications, DVT plans, and test procedures.
  • Design, implement, and debug embedded systems, analog, and digital circuits.
  • Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments.
  • Research and advocate for new technologies and projects to drive business growth.
  • Oversee the characterization of new internally developed or OTS sensors.
  • Write papers to drive strategic initiatives for Amazon Robotics.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide advice and direction to outside projects and other groups.
  • Participate in program and design reviews.
  • Ensure program goals are met, working outside of your comfort zone.
  • Provide structure where there is ambiguity.
  • Present work through papers and presentations at internal conferences.
  • Oversee development contracts with outside vendors.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Experience with project management of technical projects.
