Job Summary

As a Compounder, you will play a vital role in our production process, ensuring the accurate and efficient creation of fragrance compounds. Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of compounding, from material preparation to final product packaging.

Essential Job Functions
  • Accurately dispense and package finished products and intermediates according to quality control (QC) specifications.
  • Meticulously inspect materials for the required characteristics, adhering to formula instructions for each compound.
  • Utilize heating or cooling methods to effectively mix materials as per the compounding process.
  • Handle product packaging with precision, verifying container types, locating and confirming materials against order details, generating product sample labels, and inspecting containers before filing and repackaging.
  • Proactively report any encountered issues to management.
  • Operate forklifts and Hi-Lo equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to ensure smooth workflow and address any additional requirements.
  • Ensure meticulous inventory management practices are followed, including accurate recording of production-related material consumption and proper storage procedures. Adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) rules.
Educational Qualifications
  • No formal education requirements.
Experience
  • 1 year of previous experience in fragrance compounding or 2 years as a Material Handler within the fragrance industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in metric weight systems, conversions, and basic arithmetic skills is essential.
  • A fundamental understanding of equipment operation is beneficial.
Competencies
  • Clear communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
  • Alertness, focus, and readiness for operating forklifts and Hi-Lo equipment safely.
Physical Demands

This role requires regular standing and frequent use of hands for tasks such as fingering, handling, or feeling objects. You will also be required to walk, reach with your hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to talk and hear is essential during an 8-hour workday. Lifting and moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds is a common requirement.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
