About the Hampton Day Program: Our Hampton Day Program is designed to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve this goal.

Job Responsibilities:

\
  • Provide Supportive Care: Offer direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation, and home maintenance.
  • Foster Independence: Encourage and support individuals in enhancing their social and communication skills, facilitating community integration, and fostering healthy relationships.
  • Assess and Plan: Conduct regular assessments to identify individual needs, strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open communication with families, guardians, and other team members to ensure continuity of care and effective service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Skills and Qualities: Proven ability to provide compassionate care and support while fostering independence and promoting individual choice; excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and engage with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and Certification: Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities; current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
