Job Overview

St. Rose of Lima Parish in Gaithersburg, Maryland seeks a skilled Director of Liturgy to promote the liturgical life of the parish, coordinate liturgical ministries, and provide training and resources for ongoing formation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement intercultural sensitivity in preparing, coordinating, and implementing communal prayer and liturgy throughout the liturgical year.
  • Manage details for the celebration of weekend masses, daily masses, and communal prayer celebrated at the parish.
  • Collaborate with key staff members and parishioners regarding preparation for liturgical celebrations at the parish.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee liturgical ministers.
  • Coordinate the liturgical budget, supplies, and environment.
  • Administer the liturgical calendar, to include scheduling guest presiders, oversee announcements, intercessions, and scripts.
  • Provide oversight and organization of baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
  • Manage the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) process to include collaboration with religious education staff members.
  • Develop opportunities for liturgical catechesis.

Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • BA in Theology or Liturgy preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in Catholic liturgy.
  • Experience with the OCIA process.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Available to work nights and weekends.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
