We are currently seeking an Electrical Substation Operations Manager to join our esteemed Power Delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Substation Operations Manager will oversee and manage all facets of substation engineering projects, regardless of size or complexity. This includes:
- Developing project scopes and proposals.
- Building and assigning project teams.
- Executing project plans and ensuring quality control.
- Managing schedules and budgets effectively.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Engaging in business development to support both existing and prospective clients.
- Potentially expanding a local team of engineers and technicians.
Specific Duties Include:
- Applying project management methodologies, including project life cycles, client objectives, contract management, risk assessment, and financial oversight.
- Coordinating the efforts of engineers and the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing non-engineering project components such as public engagement and environmental compliance.
- Leading quality assurance and quality control processes on EPC projects.
- Mentoring and supervising junior staff and project engineers.
- Managing client relationships and providing technical support.
- Representing HDR in marketing and proposal efforts for new projects.
- Traveling as necessary for business development and project execution.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in substation design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
- Master's degree.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
